As economic uncertainty surges, this year’s awardees are heavily relied upon to provide advice and direction to the companies and industries they serve. They are intuitive, skilled communicators with the ability to listen and evaluate the myriad of considerations when making big complex decisions. While their kinds of consultancies vary, this year's awardees share strategies that produce success. Among this year’s awardees is Barry Friedman, Product Management Consultant for AireSpring, who uses his extensive experience to manage product portfolios ranging from $4M to over $1B; Michelle Hutchison, Senior Consultant of Organizational Change Management for Cardinal Health, who spent the past 15 years assisting large organizations through change initiatives aligned to specific cultures and audiences; and Anthony Hunt, Global Transformation Program Management Consultant with Dell, who uses his business transformation skills to energize organizations toward achieving results rapidly.

Cynthia Jones is an Adoption and Change Management Consultant with Microsoft. She is a seasoned consulting professional with over 25 years of client service experience in large scale transformations and technology deployments, change management and communication, digital asset implementation, HR function and process improvement, organizational design, SAP, and Workday implementation experience. Jones is passionate about people, end user favorability and adoption, exceeding client expectations and maintaining long-term relationships.

Before joining Microsoft, Jones was a change management lead and communications consultant at The Coca-Cola Company, and before that, a principal at The North Highland Company. Earlier in her career she worked with Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Georgia as an HR generalist and compensation consultant. Jones graduated from Miami University with an undergraduate degree in management.

 

2. Melissa Bucaria

The Johns Hopkins University

Melissa Bucaria began her professional career 12 years ago. Today, she is a Risk Management Senior Consultant with CVS Health. CVS Health is the leading health solutions company that delivers care across the country. They reach people in more ways and improve the health of communities across America through their local presence, digital channels, and nearly 300,000 dedicated employees, including more than 40,000 physicians, pharmacists, nurses, and nurse practitioners.

Bucaria first got her start in 2010 as a legal assistant at the Law Office of James M. Burke. From there, she went on to Behman Hambelton before eventually rising to become an associate at Foster & Eldridge, her most recent position prior to joining CVS Health. Bucaria graduated from New England Law - Boston with a JD and from The Johns Hopkins University with an undergraduate degree in psychology.

 

3. Barry Friedman

Barry Friedman is a Product Management Consultant for AireSpring. Friedman has 26 years of experience. He began his career in 1996.

Before joining AireSpring, Friedman was the owner of Barry's UTV Adventures and before that a director of product and project management at Nations Info Corp. Earlier in his career he worked with EarthLink as a director of business development and implementation. Friedman graduated from California State University, Northridge with an undergraduate degree in business administration, and from Georgia Institute of Technology with an undergraduate degree in financial analytics.

 

4. Michelle Hutchison
Senior Consultant of Organizational Change Management, Cardinal Health

Michelle Hutchison is a Senior Consultant of Organizational Change Management for Cardinal Health. She first joined the company in 2021. Previously, Hutchison was a senior security analyst at L Brands. Earlier in her career she worked with Accenture as a consultant. Hutchison earned a JD from The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law, an MBA from The Ohio State University Fisher College of Business, and an undergraduate degree in economics from Miami University.

 

5. Tonya Wallace

Tonya Wallace began her professional career 15 years ago. Today, she is a Senior Change Management Consultant for Chevron. Chevron Corporation is a multinational energy corporation. It is one of the largest companies in the world and the second largest oil company in the United States. Chevron is engaged in every aspect of the oil and natural gas industries, including hydrocarbon exploration and production; refining, marketing and transport; chemicals manufacturing and sales; and power generation. As of 2021, Chevron ranked 27th in the Fortune 500 with a yearly revenue of $94.7 billion and market valuation of $190 billion.

Wallace first got her start in 2007 in corporate communications at Hess Corporation. From there, she went on to Halliburton as a senior change management consultant, her most recent position prior to joining Chevron. Wallace graduated from Gonzaga University with an MA in communication and organizational leadership, and from The University of Texas at Austin with an undergraduate degree in corporate communication.

 

6. Randy Miller
Enterprise Change Management Consultant, Anthem

Randy Miller began his professional career 31 years ago. Today, he is an Enterprise Change Management Consultant with Anthem. Anthem is a leading health company dedicated to improving lives and communities and making healthcare simpler. Miller first got his start in 1991 as a workshop program manager at Hearlihy & Company, Inc. From there, he went on to Modern School Systems, before eventually rising to become a professional development coordinator at Springfield City School District, his most recent position prior to joining Anthem. Miller graduated from The Ohio State University with an undergraduate degree in international business.

 

7. Margot Brown
EAP Management Consultant, UnitedHealth Group

Margot Brown is an EAP Management Consultant for UnitedHealth Group. She first joined the company in 2015. UnitedHealth Group is a health care and well-being company with a mission to help people live healthier lives and help make the health system work better for everyone. Previously, Brown was an LMFT and EAP counselor at her private practice and before that an instructor at Notre Dame de Namur University. Earlier in her career she worked with Gray's Group Home as a consultant. Brown earned a PsyD in counseling psychology from the University of San Francisco, an MA in systemic psychology from the University of Notre Dame de Namur, and an undergraduate degree in speech language pathology from San Francisco State University.

 

8. Monica Burke
Senior Management Development Consultant, Kaiser Permanente

Monica Burke is a Senior Management Development Consultant for Kaiser Permanente. Before joining Kaiser Permanente, Burke was an analyst at Accenture. Earlier in her career she worked with AT&T as an external organizational development consultant. Burke graduated from Alliant International University-San Francisco Bay with a PhD in organizational psychology, and from the University of California, Los Angeles with an undergraduate degree in psychology.

 

9. Anthony Hunt

10. Beth O'Donnell

Before joining Wells Fargo Bank, Brown was a consultant at Ernst & Young. She graduated from Stanford University with an MS in operations research and from Brown University with an undergraduate degree in applied mathematics.

 

12. Christine King

Christine King is a Strategic Consultant for MassMutual. The Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance Company, also known as MassMutual, is a Springfield, Massachusetts-based life insurance company. Before joining MassMutual, King was a senior manager of vendor management at Fidelity Investments and before that, a technical support manager at Oracle. Earlier in her career she worked with Boston College as a journalism instructor. King graduated from Boston College with an undergraduate degree in English.

 

13. Amy Dring

Amy Dring is a Senior Vice President and Treasury Management Consultant with Wells Fargo. She first joined the company in 2020. Earlier in his career he worked with the Greater Phoenix Economic Council in research and strategy. Lanza earned an MBA in finance, an MPP, and an undergraduate degree in economics, all from Arizona State University.

 

15. Jeffrey Shontz

Jeffrey Shontz is an IT Project Management Consultant with Nationwide Insurance. He first joined the company in 2004. Stephen Surdna is a Talent Management Consultant for Deloitte. Earlier in her career she worked with the US Army as an industrial hygienist safety officer. Boss graduated from the University of Nebraska at Omaha with an undergraduate degree in biology and engineering.

 

25. William Moon

Dewan graduated from Harvard University with a degree in cybersecurity and risk management.

 

28. Robert Bischoff

Robert Bischoff began his professional career over 40 years ago. Today, he is a Design Management Consultant with US Foods. Bischoff graduated from Yale University with a MFA in graphic design, and from Indiana University Bloomington with an undergraduate degree in graphic design.

 

29. Noel Conneely
